Catchventure is a project that I created together with a friend, where in our spare time we give support to startups in the launch of their websites. It allows us to constantly update ourselves on the new programming and online marketing trends, while helping entrepreneurs at the same time.

The story

In my second experience working at a small startup, I had to create the complete Marketing Plan for the launch of a new website, which would then be created by the company’s programmers. As the project unfolded, I got to know one of the programmers a bit better, and discovered that we both loved this kind of work: think about how we could make optimise a website to generate more traffic and improve sales, and then convert all our ideas into a reality.

After working side by side for almost a year , one day we decided to turn our passion into reality and create Catchventure , a website that serves as a “sandbox ” to expose what we had learned so far, while at the same time being a way to constantly update our knowledge of programming and online marketing according to the latest trends. Creating our own website and online brand allowed us to discover the difficulties that can arise when launching a new Project first hand, something that was especially useful to help friends and acquaintances in the launch of its website or Internet projects.

The numbers and the feedback

We started creating the first pages for projects that required the creation of fully customised websites, and later on started specialising more in projects based on the WordPress.org platform (an option especially interesting for startups), including the creation of a marketing plan or personalised logos, and even the integration of e-commerce tools.

Word of mouth publicity allowed us to be constantly involved in interesting projects, and because we do everything in our free time and out of “love for the profession” we usually only worked on one project at a time. We created and successfully launched  more than 7 pages, which have given us a great feeling of satisfaction and are a great encouragement to continue.
