01The problem

No Christmas dinner, no big thank-you of the year

Autumn 2020: COVID-19 was cancelling company dinners, one of the few moments a company brings its whole team together.

  • Remote teams, worn out after a hard year
  • No online format that felt like a real dinner
  • Very little time: Christmas does not wait

02What I did and how

A complete product, without building anything

We had weeks, not months: Christmas does not wait. So we did not build anything that already existed. We brought in partners for the food and the show, and focused on what drives a purchase: a clear offer and trust in a brand-new name.

  1. Recreate the usual dinner

A company dinner has three moments: eating together, laughing and Secret Santa. We took them to every employee's home: a meal delivered, a live stand-up or improv show and a draw over video call.

  2. Partners, not our own kitchen

The food came from caterers with national coverage, such as Knoweats, and the show from professional actors. We designed and hosted each event, without setting up our own kitchen or team.

  3. A landing page in days

A single page, with no code, answering what any HR manager asks: what is included, how much it costs and whether it works with people outside Spain. The form already asked for company and headcount to prioritise leads.

  4. Real scarcity

We published the calendar with the available dates and crossed out the ones that filled up. Seeing sold-out dates pushed people to book earlier, and it was true, not a trick.

  5. Press instead of ads

With no ad budget, we told the story to the media. Within ten days we were in TICbeat, El País and Alicante Plaza, and the press brought us leads and trust.

What I learned

  • A seasonal product is won or lost in the first few weeks.

  • With partners you launch in days what would take months on your own.

  • Press gives a brand-new name the trust it does not have yet.

03Results

A six-week campaign

In six weeks we went from idea to sold-out dates and media coverage worth €100,000, without spending on ads.

  • Brand €100,000 in media coverage value

04Media coverage

Media coverage

For a brand only weeks old, the press was the main acquisition channel.

What the landing page looked like

I have restored the landing page as it was during the campaign, with its calendar and its form (which no longer works).

The page is in Spanish, as the original was.
